How power works in coaching

In coaching, power needs to be equalised. Why is this important?

How do you moderate your power?

How do you do this when you are the boss? What are the signs you can watch out for so that you understand the power dynamics?

If you give up power, what's left?

We'll explore how moderating power doesn't mean you give up your authority. How do you authorise yourself in coach mode?

Review your coaching presence strength and opportunities

What will you work on to be a more effective coach?

About Dr Karen Morley

I help leaders get more impact with less effort.

My vision is to amplify leadership impact. To invigorate leaders so that they are energised not exhausted, connected not fractured and can perform at their very best.

You will dramatically shift your impact as a leader if you coach and delegate more. Leading through coaching increases trust, capability and commitment. You’ll have with more time to spend on what matters most to you, like strategic issues and stakeholder management. Your leaders and your teams become more motivated, more influential and more productive.

I help you in these areas:

* Coaching - for individuals, teams and peer-based Circles.

* Increasing collaboration - leaders use power for good and harness collective intelligence.

* Achieving gender balance - for leaders and organisations that want a fairer workplace.

* Promoting inclusive leadership - to recognise uniqueness & unite across differences.

I work with organisations like : Allens, BHP, Broadspectrum, CBA, Coles, CSL, Downer, Guild, Latitude, Lendlease, L’Oreal, Medibank, Melbourne Water, Monash Health, Officeworks, Orica, QBE, RACV, Target, UGL.

Besides being an Executive Coach and leadership developer, I've held executive roles in government and higher education, and my approach is informed by my experience in these roles. Along the way, I completed a doctorate in leadership, and published Gender Balanced Leadership: An Executive Guide, and Lead like a Coach. I am an Honorary Fellow of the University of Melbourne, and an adjunct Director at ANZSOG.
